Sunset Coast Archers > Beginners Course |
The Beginners to Winners 8 week Sunset Coast Archers Archery Course will take you from never having touched a bow to being able to shoot on the main line with club members on week five. Weeks six to eight will see you shooting longer distances and joining in club activities. (See below)
This is not a 'Give it a Go' archery session which is more likely to turn you off the sport than get you enthused. This course is designed so that you will actually see and achieve results that will give you a better indication whether or not the sport of archery is for you.
The club has a number of instructors who will take you through the course.
Our Beginners to Winners Archery course starting on |
The course goes for 8 weeks during which you will be invited to a FREE club sausage sizzle.
The cost is $140 per person with all equipment supplied. There is a discount for immediate family members; For the first two family members the cost is $140 each, third member $100 and other immediate family members $75 each.
People who do the Sunset Coast Archers Beginners to Winners course can continue to use club equipment once they become a member for 2 months, unless it is required by the next course, free of charge. We have a good amount and range of equipment so this in not usually a problem. After that there will be a small hire fee of $5.
Club equipment can be also be hired for $5 by people coming back to the sport or who have done a course elsewhere and don't need any supervision on the main shooting line.
Archery is possibly the only sport where the whole family can learn together, side by side. If you are going to book the kids in to a beginners course you might consider doing it yourself and spend a bit of quality time with them. That's priceless as they say!
Courses are restricted to a maximum of 12 people aged from 11 upwards. We may consider younger children where a parent or guardian is taking the course.
Bookings are essential and your spot will only be held once you pay for the course. You have to attend the first two Sundays to be able to do the course however if you miss any other Sunday, apart from week 7, for whatever reason we will help you make it up if necessary. |

All equipment is provided by the club and you will learn to shoot with a recurve bow.
If you have your own bow you may be able to use that depending on the draw weight (how hard it is to pull back the string) and the length of your arrows. These are two important safety factors. The cost for the course is still the same.
